One of the greatest benefits of 21st century, technology-infused classrooms is the integration of authentic audiences. Launching a student-led radio station (podcasting) has enabled Plymouth students to reach listeners worldwide with “live, local” shows produced solely by students. Podcasting empowers students to innovatively craft their own digital learning experiences through independent and collaborative discovery and creation while addressing the new media, speaking and listening, research, and writing standards. Podcasting allows broadcasting live through automation and streaming while always on the air. There are no streaming servers to support or drain on facility bandwidth, which is a concern in most school corporations. All that is required is a Mac and an Internet connection. This method allows teachers to empower students to innovatively craft their own digital learning experiences through discovery and creation.

Participants who know the basics of Canvas will go deeper into using Canvas in the classroom. In this session, presenters will talk about assignment work flow, grading within Canvas and how to send those grades directly into PowerSchool.
