AIR Studio: A Teachers' Community for Assessment Innovation Resource Development and Dissemination

The Assessment Innovation Research (AIR) Studio is professional learning community with a mission to help teachers strengthen classroom assessment practices. AIR consists of an online clearinghouse of resources made by and for educators. Resources include training videos, technology reviews, assessment instruments, and assessment best practices. All teachers are welcome to join AIR and share their own resources. AIR is a physical studio at Ball State and an online one. Teacher education majors from Ball State work in the on campus studio help make digital resources with teachers and assist in the management of the online studio There is also have a review process that allows the community to evaluate resources that meet select criteria. In this way, AIR helps elevate the profession as it welcomes all teachers to the community.

In this presentation, teacher educators and future teachers from Ball State University will demonstrate the AIR portal and its initial set of resources. They will present the online invitation to all pre- and in-service teachers and teacher educators to join AIR and begin adding resources, posting challenges, and providing ideas and solutions that work.   


Dr. Matthew Stuve

Ball State University, Teachers College
Dr. Stuve is the Associate Professor of Educational Psychology at Ball State University. Dr. Stuve is the Director of the Center for Technology in Education, Teachers College, Ball State University. He is also the President and Co-Founder, Educational Informatics, LLC. A systems and consulting company founded to commercialize intellectual property created at Ball State.
